Vintage Barbershop
Listen to Music!

The beautiful four-part harmony of quartet singing was very much in vogue during the early days of the phonograph.  Go to this site to hear RealAudio and MP3 files of vintage records made by quartets performing in the traditional a capella barbershop style.

"AN OLD COMPANY IN A NEW CYBER-WORLD"
is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of phonograph recordings from cylinder, disc, radio and private recordings of all types from 1886 to 1955. Over 800 one-hour Cassettes are available for your listening pleasure!
Awesome recordings from as far back as the 1800's!! here is an example:
1 Antique EDISON'S PERFECTED RECORDINGS (1888-1889)
The rarest of all collections, the experimental white wax records of the Edison Laboratory in 1888-1889! Many of these recordings were taken at "Little Menlo", Edison's English connection led by Colonel Gouraud. The quality varies greatly as these are, indeed, entirely experimental and were not expected to be preserved for any great length of time. The fact that they have survived by the fates, gives us an insight into the earliest of all recordings. A must for the audio enthusiast!

Cylinders On The Web

This site is a compilation of my collection of 2- and 4-minute cylinder records. These cover most of the entertainment cylinder era, from about 1898 (brown wax Edison-Bell "The Boys Of The Old Brigade") through to Aug-1926 (Blue Amberol 5192 "Valencia"). I've also included whatever 78rpm discs I could find of two of my favorite artists, Sir Harry Lauder and Billy Williams.
